CBS puts new SYP 2,000 banknotes into circulation

Governor of the Central Bank of Syria (CBS) Duraid Durgham announced that new SYP 2,000 banknotes were put into circulation on Sunday in Damascus and a number of provinces.

Durgham, in a press conference held at the CBS building, said the Bank found that it is the right time to put the new banknotes into
circulation due to the wear and tear that affected the currency currently in circulation.
