Syria, China discuss prospects of joint cooperation

 Finance Minister Maamoun Hamdan discussed with a delegation of the Chinese-Arab Association, headed by Chen Yong, prospects of joint cooperation and China’s participation in the reconstruction process in Syria .

Minister Hamdan, who is heading the Syrian side to the Syrian-Chinese Joint Committee, welcomed the Chinese companies which desire to invest in Syria, indicating to the several laws and legislations that were issued by the government to attract and encourage investments in Syria, particularly those related to exempting raw materials and industrial machinery from fees.

He added that the Syrian economy offers plenty of investment opportunities in different fields such as industry, agriculture and trade, which enhances the possibility to establish joint cooperation projects between the two sides.

For his part, head of the Chinese delegation said that he will convey the real image of the situation in Syria, adding that Chinese companies are looking forward to invest in Syria and take part in the next edition of Damascus International Fair.
