As part of its compulsory unilateral economic sanctions and its embargo on the Syrian people, the United States imposed new sanctions against Cham Wings Airlines.

The company issued a statement on Saturday saying that the United States imposed new sanctions on the Airlines which is carrying out a civilian, humanitarian, and economic role in helping civilians travel and ship goods, food, and medicine, something which alleviates the effects of the crisis affecting all Syrians.

Cham Wings Airlines was established in 2008, and due to the conditions spawned by the crisis and the economic sanctions on Syria, it was force to suspend operations from the beginning of 2012 to September 2014 when it resumed work.
